DSH: The collaboration between IBM & MIC
The digital society hub showcases the strategic partnership between the Master International Communication (MIC) and the global IT-company IBM. Interviews with different key players highlight the forms of cooperation and offer a wide explanation of the project done by the MIC students. IBM aims to implement artificial intelligence in a way to counter or address the fake news issues that are currently in play. MIC students came up with innovative communication solutions and presented the findings. The strategic collaboration between MIC and IBM will deepen and continue in the future.
The School of Communication, Media & IT (SCMI) is very proud to announce the successful accreditation of its master’s programme in International Communication (MIC) by Hobéon on Thursday the 27th of January. The verdict from the experienced expert panel was very positive and encouraging: “what we saw was very motivated staff who are very dedicated to the programme. And also very strong and confident students”.
All individual degree programmes within the Hanze UAS are subjected to accreditation every six years. The audit assesses the quality of the programme by 4 standards: (1) intended learning outcomes, (2) teaching-learning environment, (3) student assessment and (4) achieved learning outcomes. The procedure starts with the self-evaluation by the programme where a report is written. This is followed by an external assessment by a panel of experts. Finally, the auditing institution applies for the accreditation of the programme and is granted by NVAO.
The collaboration with the partner IBM within the Digital Society Hub is a good example of intertwining of education and research.
